What worms does a saliva tapeworm test show?
A saliva tapeworm test shows the tapeworm burden a horse is carrying. It does not test for redworms, encysted redworms, roundworms or pinworms.
What should I do about those worms?
Encysted redworms should always be treated against in winter with a suitable wormer. Contact us to find out more information. We offer both routine worm counts and pinworm tests.
How often should I get a routine worm count?
It is recommended to get a saliva tapeworm test carried out approximately every 6 months, generally in spring and autumn.
